4/4/2009 EMDR Practicum course

Instructor: Philip Manfield, Ph.D.

Saturday, April 4, 2009, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Location: John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill, CA (This is not however a JFKU course; it is offered privately by the instructor)

Fee: $150

Contact Info: by telephone at 510-849-9411 or 925-944-0805, or by email at pem49.jpg (15594 bytes).

Description: This course consists primarily of a supervised EMDR Practicum experience (a minimum of 3 hours) similar to those provided in the EMDR Basic Training.  Participants need to have completed at least Part I of the EMDR Basic Training from any EMDRIA-approved EMDR trainer.  People who have taken Part I of the EMDR Basic Training prior to July 1, 2007 and would like to complete the training can use this four hour practicum course to make up the difference between the Part I curriculum prior to July, 2007 and the current more extensive Part I course taught by Dr. Manfield though JFKU CE or Alliant University CE. Participants may be planning to complete Part II of the basic training in the future or have already completed it. This course is also ideal for EMDR-trained clinicians who would like to sharpen their EMDR skills through the experience of both receiving EMDR and conducting EMDR in a live supervised practicum. Qualifies for 4 CE units from CA BBS.

Instructor: Philip Manfield, Ph.D.

Friday, September 26, 2008, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Location: John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill, CA

$100: www.jfku.edu/ce or 925.969.3150

Description: This course is designed for people who would like to witness the EMDR process first hand. Through extensive use of video and live demonstration, participants will observe the mechanisms that enable EMDR to produce deep change in a relatively short time. They will gain an understanding of the adaptive information processing model on which EMDR is based and they will understand how it is applied. Many of the more subtle agents of change that are inherent in successful EMDR processing will be explained and demonstrated. This class is available to people of all levels of experience with EMDR, from those with no previous exposure to those that have clinical training in conducting EMDR. Participants need not be clinicians. Those interested in being trained to use EMDR clinically should take Part I and Part II of the basic training.
